New Bino harnesses

I couldn't disagree more. I have owned or used all of the harnesses you mentioned except the Crooked Horn. I am currently running the Kuiu simply because it's the lightest, yet has all of the features of my Sitka except the ability to put the binos back in the harness one-handed. (Albeit annoying, I have found a remedy) The Sitka has the fastest removal and the issue you pointed out is easily remedied by zipping up the zippers about 3" on both sides after you have installed your binos. I have used the Sitka for 3 seasons and carried it for well over 500 miles in the field. The only reason I stopped using it, and now have donated it to my gf, is because it's Sitka, the camo and it's heavier than the Kuiu. If it was a solid brown or green and didn't have a logo, I would probably buy another one. I even thought about having Paul make me a custom one. I do love Paul's harness (FHF) but it's not as fast as the Sitka in terms of removal and re-install, and it's far too heavy for me. The S4 fails on coverage for me from rain (amongst other reasons). Just my .02

Guess that's why there are so many models. I tried everything with the kuius (both sizes) I had. In my opinion the fact t hat there is not a step going from the harness to the pouch bottom makes it go from what could be the best out there to hands down the most annoying..to me any way. I hunt late season in mt a lot, the Sitka acted like a grader on my chest when crawling and scooped up tons of snow... assuming the binos didn't just fall out.

Different strokes for different folks... I'd try the KUIU again if they changed that one glaringly obvious flaw.

I also run a HPG Bag, but the original Kit Bag. Its a bit large in some areas and smaller in other areas. I want a chest pouch that can run both a G20 and my binos vs. a straight up simple bino pouch.
If Paul at FHF was still doing custom work, that would be a sweet thing to have him do. I'd even like to see a fly fishing chest pack set up for conceal carry as well.

I just went back and played with the Badlands and Eberlestock a little.

The badlands: if anyone thought it was noisy to close the flap on the old design....This one sucks. I can get my old badlands harness to close quietly if I am careful. I don't think it can be done with this one. There's two magnets in the upper corners that are LOUD when they close.

The Eberlestock: you can open a little or open a lot on the flap. If you open it all the way the magnet on the right wants to close back up to partially open. You would need some weight to keep it all the way open. The harness is comfortable. The pouch sticks out a little much for my liking. The zippers are waterproof. In order to get the magnet to engage on the top to completely enclose the inside you have to remember to push the top down. I thought it actually didn't seal on the back side on top until I pushed it down.

If I'm using 8x's I attach a pouch to the front of my HPG chest rig. Still doesn't interfere with my bow string. Otherwise its a Kuiu harness.
