So my wife wants to start hunting (probably the 5th time she has said this and never followed through) with that, she will be using my 6mm ARC. So I am using this as an excuse to build another 6mm (I got a ton of 6mm bullets now and do not plan to switch). I need a little help with deciding the action:
The cartridge will be a 6mm GT just because I like to shoot a lot and the efficiency of the cartridge compare to the 6mm CM seems to be pretty close to what the CM can produce. I would like to keep this compact like the 16" barrel 6mm ARC Howa Mini I have and get the "shortest/lightest" (without going TI) short action I can get that will still run the 6mm GT just fine. I know Defiance SA are shorter than normal, is there any other actions out there that tend to fall in the "shorter than normal short action?".
This rifle will probably have a carbon 16-18" preferred barrel blanks. I will probably put a peak 44 blacktooth stock on it mainly because I like the negative comb with the "traditional style stock. Pretty much I am trying to make almost the same type rifle as my 6mm ARC with a little more "umph" without stepping into some like a 6UM, 6mm PRC, etc.
