Hey All,

I'm new to hunting, but drew a late season bull tag in 072-074 Nevada. Can anyone that's hunted here provide some advice on the unit/s? I'm going to DIY and have no idea what i'm doing :)

One suggestion would be to call Huntin' Fool and see if they have a good pool of prior tagholders in their database. If so, it might be worth the $100 annual subscription price to sign up and get that list. In all my experience with those lists, the guys have been SUPER helpful and really line you out on where to go. Just a thought if you don't get some good intel elsewhere.

072 is mostly in and around the Jarbidge wilderness area with fairly good roads surrounding the wilderness boundary and many good trails in the wilderness. The wilderness area itself is steep and rugged. 073 is also in the southern edge of the wilderness. Both 073 and 074 are fairly well roaded with rolling sage. the best access is from Wells, Jackpot or through Rogerson ID towards Murphys ID then pick a turnoff into the area. I recently went through the town of Jarbidge and over to Elko but I don't recommend that route unless your in no hurry - there is also a significant grade going into the town of Jarbidge as well. If possible you should scout it at least once before your hunt because it is a very large area and the first time I went there even after extensive e-scouting it was incredible. My wife has a late season bull tag there and I have scouted it twice seeing lots of elk - mostly in and around the wilderness area itself. Also keep in mind that opening day of late season last year there was a lot of snow creating quite a bit of issues for those who had that tag. Shoot me a pm if your are interested in specific access, etc.
