What is the best access coming over from Charleston to the Rubies. I have tag #101-109. Will be first time in area.
Thanks for the information. Any suggestions for base camp in area 101-102?

It’s never easy to be an FNG and ask for advice. There are a lot of those that would flame you asking advice. Go on Google Earth and ONX looking for gullies, divides, rough country that might be adjacent to agriculture land. No agriculture land, look for a water source, food source and bedding. It may be daunting finding a good mulie initially. But, stick with it and learn. MTG

I drew this tag for 101-109 mid rifle so been lurking around looking for advice. You guys are brutal it’s hilarious. This drawing is the best

Missed this thread, but that map was hilarious.

Here's the reason FNGs get razzed on here so often when looking for advice: they give the impression they haven't done their part yet. Haven't done their homework, and often, wanting shortcuts the rest of us had to learn and earn the hard way. That said, if it looks like you've done your part, people will gush good info on here. Not the specifics of where to hunt a certain unit, but how to hunt muleys.

First thing I'd recommend, is read every single post in this Mule Deer section, going back at least 2 full years, before really asking any questions. That alone will have you light years ahead of must mule deer hunters out there, as it contains literal lifetimes of lessons and experiences. Then fire away with any questions. You'll find people will want to share.
