I was bale to connect with this buck on day three of my solo archery hunt at 57 yards. Probably the worst pack out ive ever had as I ran out of water when I got to him 1000+ ft down the hill and on an East facing slope at 9:00am from where my pack was and the nearest spring was 2 miles away. Still have a sore throat from sucking so much air with no water lol but it was all worth it.

Thanks. Yes ever since having a close call with de hydration a few years ago I always carry 3-4 packs of powdered pedialyte in my emergency kit. When I got to water on Monday I drank three packs with two liters of water and started feeling better within the hour.

Running out of water has been a bigger problem for me than most of the things ppl talk about when hunting the backcountry. I think I need to get better at making sure I've always got enough just in case or back at camp. Just sucks making the trek down in elevation to fill up the dromedary bag..... :)
