Hello all,
I’ve been a forum member for years but haven’t been very active, so my apologies for that. I’m 26 years old, a Veteran, and a Nevada native.
I was born and raised in Reno, NV. The only “hunting” I did growing up was a trip to central Nevada for Mule Deer when I was 14. We barely got the truck dusty, spent a night in a hotel, and headed back home.
I drew another Mule Deer tag when I was 20 and ran into a guy who introduced me to backcountry hunting. I remember thinking it sounded like the hardest, funnest thing I could do. I started looking into it as soon as I got home. I’m all self-taught from books, forums, blogs, podcasts, and YouTube. Since then I’ve gone 2/3 on Mule Deer hunts in easy-to-draw, high hunting pressure units. I couldn’t have done it without all the information available online and I figured it’s about time I become more than just a lurker. It’s time for me to give back where I can. I am in no way an expert in any subject but I will try to share what I can.

Also from Reno, welcome.

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new NV member.

P.S. You sir, have been awarded the FNG ⭐ for your excellent into that also included pictures. Bravo Zulu.

Also in Reno! I’m just getting into hunting and learning the Nevada units, but looking at other states makes me appreciate all the public land we have.
