Here’s the deal, if I could get ahold of a Durston X-Dome 1p+ I’d probably go that route. However since I missed the last drop and the next one is a month and a half out while I’m trying to go scout I’m now looking for a comparable 1p freestanding tent. I bring my dog with me on scouting trips so it has to be an enclosed tent so that she doesn’t go exploring in the middle of the night. And something with a fairly small footprint so that I can kick out a spot in a hillside and pitch it in tight quarters if necessary. My current backpack shelter/ tent quiver is:

-Argali Owyhee paired with Katabatic pinion bivy, fast and light setup for archery elk or one to two night spike camps.

-Argali Absaroka, 5+ day hunts with a partner where there’s space to pitch it.

-Nemo Hornet 3p, spacious setup for backpacking with the wife and pup, keeps things light but definitely not my favorite tent. The draw string foot box stakes aren’t my favorite despite saving weight and I had minimal confidence in this thing the last wind storm I was in, in it. Had to re stake and adjust the tent multiple times throughout the night, it seemed to act like a kite catching wind in the fly. I owned a 2p Nemo dagger before this and it was much sturdier but not enough floor space for the wife, dog and myself so sold it and replaced it with the 3p hornet.

Does anyone have experience with the 1p Nemo Dragonfly? It seems similar to the Durston X-dome 1p+, comparable weights, comparable footprint, and I’m able to get the Nemo at a pro deal which brings it down to the same price as the X-dome. Would be awesome to hear from someone who has tried both.

Cheers and thank you! Pic from a couple weeks back glassing with the pup in the cascades IMG_6510.jpeg

Did you consider just getting the inner tent for your owyhee? Also not sure if you’re exploring other options or just the Nemo, but I have a tarptent moment double wall for sale in the classifieds
