looking for some sleeping bag recommendations for a man (5'10") and woman (5'2")
looking for something around a 20 degree bag that is somewhat lightweight.
we are getting married this summer and we have a registry at REI and after the wedding are heading to Yellowstone for a week and are wanting to do some backpacking and want to have decent bags to take with us.

I hunt with a guy that uses an REI Magma and think it's a great bag. We had overnight lows around 20F and he said he was comfortable. He is 5'10" and a 30-32" waist. I think you'd have difficulty beating their value if you're only shopping at REI and not going to get a garage sale item or something like that.

I've got a Kelty Cosmic 20F that's a good bag for about $100. It's about 3 lbs, which is kind of heavy for what it is, but it is accurately rated with 4 or 5 " of loft IIRC. They only come in RH zip, which may or may not be appreciated if your gf wants a bag that unzips opposite of yours.

Marmot Helium (2lbs. 1 oz.) for you and Marmot Xenon (2 lbs. 6 oz.) for her. Lightweight and warm bags. 800 fill power. Store them umcompressed and down bags will last for decades--wash gently every season or so and dry on medium heat with several tennis balls in the dryer for several cycles and this will help bring back loft that's lost due to body oils, etc. that gets in the down. Do the 'cry now' thing and get high quality down bags at a minimum of 700 fill power goose (not duck) down.

My brother has a Helium and it's been a great bag. I have a Marmot Hydrogen and it's my goto light weight bag at 1 lb. 8oz.--it has continuous baffles so the down can be shifted from top to bottom depending on temp--not sure if Helium and Xenon do that.

Have fun at Yellowstone! My family and I may be there and do some backpacking this summer as well.
