Medicine bow range just west of Laramie, WY has some cool spots. I can put you out on a ledge if you would like. Let me dig up a picture...

Been camping here several times. One of my favorite places on earth. The lakes and stream at the bottom of Medicine Bow peak are hard to beat.

She said yes! Since then I haven't even been able to glass for game or shed hunt. We've been rotating our phones on the charger as she has been racking up the minutes and FaceTime data usage calling every person she knows, may have known, could possibly be mutual friends of someone she saw at one point and generally everyone else that wonders why the hell they are getting a phone call from a woman they can't recall ever having met.

She walked past the damn shed 3 times before I literally had to stop beside it.

I'll post the pictures from the game camera when I get in front of a computer.

Thanks to Colonel00....even though I muffed up and got lost!

Meadow Mountain just off I-70 near Vail would be an easy one hour hike with great views of the Gore Range - there is an old cabin that would be a cool place to hang out, have a few drinks and call family afterwards- you would have cell reception and be close to town. I'm too rookie to post photos, but can text or email you a few I took last week.

Here's a few pics. For anyone that's seen Meet The Parents, you'll get the Mumms joke. It was the most expensive bottle of Champagne I could find ha!

Congrats! That your new pack in the pic?

You know it is. It wasn't just a proposal trip. It was also a gear testing trip.... Took the new REI XT 85, the new Saloman Quest 4ds and a new sleeping pad. All performed great except for the Cabelas Ultralight Pad.

Thanks for all the congrats!

Atta boy. This should definitely go on the "you might be a hardcore backcoutry Rokslider if" thread. Using your proposal to test gear *tear* I'm so proud.

That is too cool!! Nice way to pop the ?. I hope you do realize that you set the bar pretty high for future events. She will expect that kind of thought and planning for her birthday , anniversaries ect. Some day down the road you will hear how you use to be soo thoughtful and romantic. This week marks 20 years for my wife and I and I have heard it several times over the years. I get a pass this year since we are closing on our dream house in less than 30 days. We both agreed it is our 20 year present to each other. Just remember its not how much you spend it's how much time and thought you put in it. Good luck

you might want to tape the ring to the Shed. I would hate to see her jerk up the shed and the ring goes flying.....that would ruin the mood real quick :)

Exactly what I thought as I read the plan.

Congrats! Glad she said yes, a no would have made the trail cam interesting...

Haha! I tried to push the proposal off as far into Sunday as I could.... Knowing once the deed was done there wouldn't be anymore shed hunting/scouting done.

I can already picture her saying this. She lets me get away with spending a disturbing amount of money on hunting/gear...hopefully I've set the standard early on. Although we've known each other for 14 years, we're both turning 30 this year and were fortunate enough to build our careers and early adult lives independent of each other. Congrats on the new house and the 20 year anniversary!
