Let me start with I have only loaded with nosler bullets for the following:

26 Nosler.....129 ABLR.....142 ABLR.
7mm-08.....120 BT Hunting.
6.5 Creedmoor.....142 ABLR.
28 Nosler....168 ABLR....140 AB.

These have killed the following this year:

26 nosler....28 inch muley...130 yards...142 ABLR....never moved.
26 nosler.....5x5 bull.....60 yards...142 ABLR...front chest shot....never moved.
26 nosler....whitetail doe....295 yards....129 ABLR....2 rolls on flat ground.
7mm-08....whitetail doe.....250 yards....120 BT...30 yard recovery.
7mm-08...125 inch whitetail....25 yards...120 BT...never moved.
6.5 Creedmoor....nice 4x4 muley....325 yards....142 ABLR...rolled down mountain.
6.5 Creedmoor....whitetail buck....300 yards....142 ABLR...horrible shot placement by hunter, 100 yard recovery.
28 Nosler....2 whitetail bucks....80 yards....140 AB....20 yard recovery.

What does the new Berger Elites, specifically in the 6.5 calibers, gain me vs the nosler ABLR? I know there are many here that load Berger. I'm just curious on the reasons. I have a new Fierce Ti Edge 26 Nosler on the way and am open to new loads, however, it's hard to leave a good thing.

Any discussion is helpful, and I appreciate it.

I know at first the LRAB were way off on their BCs. The Bergers do generally have a higher, true BC. For the shots you are taking BC's really won't matter though. I would stick with what's working for you.

I range tested all the bullets out to 550. They all tracked.

Also, I should have been specific about terminal performance.

I have not used both enough to give an opinion on terminal performance of both. I can say I have been extremely happy with bergers. With kills at 756, 525 and 545 this year I am quite impressed. I had an opportunity at a deer at less than a 100 yards and passed up on it due to it being the first day. I wish I would have taken the shot just to see the terminal performance at close range.

I believe nosler fixed their BC's after a few months of being out but at first they were advertising really high numbers.

The furthest shot for me was 2 years ago at 530 on a muley. 129 ABLR factory. Ran 50 yards, then rolled down a ways.

I'm curious on the 140 elites. Is it tough enough on elk?

My only experience with a vld was with a 7mm08 and it was devasting with shrapnel. Just curious what happens with an elk.

530 is not really a long shot in todays' long range game. I would not switch bullets if you have something good right now. I personally shoot Berger's and love them, but if I had the ABLR's dialed first, I would stick with them.

My only suggestion for you is to take me hunting. Please!!! Wow, that's a lot of animals. Very successful hunting career so far.

Anyways, I'd stick with what works.

Thanks. That was this year's hunts. I'm blessed to hunt as much as I do.
