Need New Pack for Treestand Self Filming

I've used an inexpensive Fieldline the past few years but now it is time to upgrade. Here is what I need not in any particular order.
1. The need is almost exclusively for treestand hunting whitetails in the south.
2. Prefer non licensed camo or light solid color because it hangs in the tree beside/behind me when I hunt from a treestand. I don't want a "dark" bag.
3. Will store Hawk hunt hard tree arm and manfrotto 700rc2 head with bebob dvxl remote rocker (assembled) and Canon Vixia G10 with dm-100 mic in a separate camera case.
4. Also needs to have room for other essential treestand whitetail hunting gear. I only need to prepare for a half days hunt. I go in in the morning and come out late morning and go back in the early afternoon and stay till dark.
5. This past season my pack was strapped to a Lone Wolf sit and climb treestand. This coming season I hope to have more fixed position stands but I suspect I will still need to strap it to the Lone Wolf climber for many hunts.
6. Do you think I can get all that under $100?

Did some looking around and found the following.

Kifaru E&E: Pros: Unpadded straps tuck away which would be good when mounted on my treestand. No waist belt. Simple. Good reputation.
Cons: A little on the small side with not many features for the cost. 14.5" tall might not fit my camera arm which is 14" not including the fluid head. Zips wide open which could spill contents hanging in a treestand. Would need zipper stops. Over $100.

Slumberjack Spoor: Pros: (2) compartments, no waist belt, non gaping zippered compartment, well under $100 (under $40 on Amazon).
Cons: Unconfirmed quality and durability.

Mystery Ranch Crest: Pros: Compartments, no waist belt, non gaping zippered compartment, good reputation.
Cons: Over the $100 budget.

Sandpiper of Cali. Bug Out: Pros: Compartments, small waist belt that might be able to be used to strap to treestand. Stowable straps. Cool camo (Cabelas) In stock at local store.
Cons: Zips wide open which could spill contents hanging in a treestand. Would need zipper stops. Over $100 but just a little. Waist belt but small.

sign up for Camofire
they have budget daypacks including the MR Crest on sale on a regular basis

carrying extra clothes in cold weather could be a limiting factor with small packs

I personally would recommend Kifaru. You might check the Rhino Den if budget is your number one priority based on what you listed in your needs/looking for. I just feel like you can’t put a price on Kifaru. I don’t do any tree stand hunting but I can tell you their packs are tough, comfortable, and effective for a lot of types of uses and hunting situations. Not to mention their customer service is one of the best I’ve experienced. Aron is an awesome person, and he really has a passion for Kifaru and that shows my husband and I have a lot of respect for him and Kifaru.

I should update the thread I started awhile back about carrying a Lone Wolf, but I ended up buying a Kuiu Ultra frame from their Outlet for like $170.

It's super light, and can carry my Assault and sticks (20-25lbs) like it's nothing. The frame was easy to secure to the base of the stand (replaces Molle straps, and I leave it attached to the base when I hang it), and I just strap on a small bag with a hook for my other gear, which I hang in the tree with me (Hunter's Organizer Pack)

I will buy an ultra 3000 bag at some point to carry extra clothes.

System is more than $100, but it makes carrying the stand and sticks incredibly easy.

Here is a video that I found that shows what I am looking for. I have the same straps on my Lone Wolf but contrary to the video I carry mine with the traction belts facing up. I also carry a small backpack strapped to the back of it. I am looking for a new pack to strap to the back of it which will carry my camera arm and camera as well as a few treestand deer hunting essentials.

The kifaru e&e is about as small as I can go. At 14.5 inches inside it will be a close fit for my 14" folded camera arm. At well over $100 I can't take a chance that it will not fit. It would be ideal though because it can be set up like a docking pack and should be easy to attach to my treestand.

Now, take a look at this link. I could by 4 of these for the cost of 1 kifaru. I am going to have to give it a try and maybe keep my eyes open for a kifaru on the classifieds and maybe pick one up before the season starts.

Where you at in NC? I have an Exo 3500 I am planning to use for whitetails, putting the stand between the bag and frame, and have the option to pack out a deer if I am deep in public. It would give you an idea, and they make a 2000 bag. Is over your budget though. be happy to let you take a look since they are hard to get your hands on. I'm in Raleigh.

I'm in Granville Co. I'm good with the lone wolf and the molle II rucksack straps. Just need the small daypack to ride on the back of the stand and carry my self filming camera gear and a few other whitetail treestand essentials like show in the video.

It really surprises me to see so many people recommending kifaru packs for tree stand hunting. Is that really necessary? I’ve only hunted from a tree stand once in my life and it involves waking less than 1/2 a mime to the place we were hunting. I can’t imagine investing in an 800 dollar backpack for that sort of use.

I have hunted treestands all my hunting life, and I think Kifaru is overkill for that kind of hunting. I have a Kifaru that I bought for elk hunting out west, but my treestand hunting in Michigan my much cheaper badlands works great.

I get wanting a comfortable way to haul tree stands out but kifaru just seems like overkill for it. You could look at those wilderness pack frames which probably cost less than 1/2 of a kifaru frame and would probably work well for hauling a tree stand out to your back 40 acres. Kifaru makes sweet packs it just seems excessive to recommend them for tree stand hunting.

I gotcha. i have a Camelbak I got at Dick's on their bargain table that I use when I don't need the Exo. Its worked great for all over NC, ducks, deer, hiking, etc.

It isn't excessive when your tree stands are several miles in and, the deer needs carried out. Aside from that, yes they are over kill and, the only Kifaru bag that works halfway decent for whitetail treestand hunting with a frame is the 22 mag.

Yeah I can see that I didn't make myself clear in my posts as to what I was looking for or those that are replying are not reading my posts. Also, I am from the east coast and hunt rural farm land. I do not take all day excursions into the vastness of the west so I guess they can't relate. When my Slumberjack Spoor gets here I will have to make a video or take some pics showing how I plan to use it. I hunt within 1/2 mile of my house or my truck. I don't need a complete frame system to carry my stand and a days worth of food and a change of clothes in a pack. If I get a deer that is a ways form the truck I will hike back and get my wheeled cart and go back after it.

My Lone Wolf has molle rucksack straps on it to carry it in. I need a SMALL pack to put my camera arm, camera, and a few other treestand deer hunting essentials in. It will be docked onto the back of my treestand as shown in the video above.

Here is an image I found on the net showing what I need to do. It shows how I will carry the stand and the only difference in my set up is that I will not have the extra clothes he appears to have. I will just have the small pack docked to the back.

hands down the best pack money can buy. It is a solid gray color. I use mine for tree stand hunting or hiking even for a carry on. It doesn't have a meat shelf but white tail hunting most don't care for a frame pack. I seriously think you would be pleased with the 2200. They are originally $260.00 but for rockslide members use (ROK10) for 10% off.
