Need minimalist pack

Looking for an UL hydration pack that can be used for run-n-gun predator calling, scouting and biking. Must be able to hold a 3-4L bladder, be very comfortable and maybe a small pocket for gps/wallet. Absolutely must be built for punishment, busting brush and the like. Found one that doesn't make your back sweat and heat up your water?

Osprey has great options. If the pack gets torn up, send it in for repair or replacement. I usually stick to an Osprey pack if I'm backpacking, or scouting the weight 40lb or less.

Osprey makes a few nice small day packs, Patagonia ascenist and hmg 2400 are good light choices, I use the last 2 for backcountry skiing and predator hunting on the reg. If your looking for something tacticool, mystery ranch has a tri zip assault pack I used for work. It has very quick access in and out and is very robust and will likely last you forever also quite a bit heavier and not really "minimalist" if that matters.

Let me rephrase. I am looking for a thin, UL hydration pack...I don't need a 3.8lb pack or a daypack. I have those. Thinking of something closer to the Sitka Gear Ascent 8 Fanny Pack but half as thick and preferably under 1lb. Something very low profile.

Take a look at the Seek Outside Merlin daypack/talon.

14 ounces, 1400 cu-in, 3 separate zippered pockets. Main pocket, smaller side pocket, small top pocket.

It also serves as a piggy-back or compression on SO's other packs,

This sounds like what you're looking for and maybe add a small chest strap to keep it from shifting when you're moving fast or through heavy brush.

This might be worth checking out. Kit bag up front with your gear and a hydration bladder on the back.

Hill People Gear | Real use gear for backcountry travelers - this is just the replacement harness, you would still need a kit bag. I think.

All the Camelbak packs are designed to hold their bladders. They're thin, sleek, light, and very compact.

I have the Camelbak Rogue that is very minimalistic. I can still fit a G43 Glock in the lid when biking or running. They also make some milspec models that would be more suited to brush busting.

get one without the straps and add some kifaru E&E straps to it, the harness from Hill People Gear is a little too much for such a small pack. (and the yoke didn't fit me well)

I’ve been using this since spring gobbler and I really like it thus far. It doesn’t work for a bladder any bigger than 2 liter however. I can think of a few upgrades that would be nice if they made a few changes but overall I like it a lot.

HPG Tarahumara. Small enough for what you want, but I have carried 18-20lbs in mine and it worked great. Trying to figure out how to add a bag to use for quail hunting

Bruce, if you are still looking, try the Camelbak M.U.L.E. It comes with the "Beast" 3 L bladder, and has several cargo compartments, plus molle points to attach whatever. Comes in desert camo, woodland camo, or black. Got mine for $60 on Ebay. It has 5mm closed cell foam insulation on the back panel, and in the bladder compartment.
