Want to get people's opinions, looking at getting first light boundary stormtight jacket and pant or the new under armour essential rain jacket and pant with storm 3 technology in the forest camo. Going on a hunt really soon and would like to get some opinions on what's better as soon as I can.

Under Armour hunting clothing doesn't get much love on this forum so more likely than not people are going to point you towards First Lite of those two options. I have the FL pants and they are nice so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. That said, to me, what rain gear you need depends a lot on how/when/where you use it. I hunt mostly in Utah where rain storms aren't usually a prolonged event in the mountains so I could get away with less rain gear. I've chosen to still pack pants, etc. because I use it as a part of my layering system to block wind as well. If I wasn't backpacking I wouldn't bother with rain pants and I'd just take a light pullover like the Cabela's space rain jacket. That obviously wouldn't work in Alaska, so a lot of it depends on how/where/when you plan on using it.

Of the options you point out I think the First Lite stuff is your better route. But with that said, the biggest mistake people make is not matching the right rain gear to the right task. What are you planning to hunt and where? Are you backpacking in or operating out of a base camp?

I don't know what the weather is like there living in AK, but it doesn't sound like weight is a major concern. I think you would be really happy with the FL stuff. UA is a big unknown to me. They do use some pretty good components, but I just don't know much about how they operate. What I do know about companies like FL, or even Sitka, is that they are pretty committed to conservation and their customers. I think Black Ovis just posted a coupon code for Rokslide as well so that might help if they have what you are looking for in stock.

Yukon. I bought my Yukon gear and I stood in the shower with it all on for like 20 minutes with the water beating,on me. Got out and didn't have an ounce of water on me. My clothes weren't even damp. Very expensive but worth it!
