So ill take a crack at the why from a math variable side.

509 yds, 2610 fps, 100yd , 58.32" drop
509yds 20° 47.53 drop
25° 42.13
30° 36.16
480 yds, 0 degrees, 50.07 drop
520 yds, 0 degrees, 62.63 drop

Now let's play with speed

480 yrd 2510 fps. 54.93
509 yrd 2510. 63.93
520 yds 2510 67.56

480yds 2710 fps 45.77
520yds 2710. 56.39

If you give yourself a 10" target, you need 5" of that for just your avg group size, if your shooting 1moa in field conditions. Therefore, any shift more than 5" is a miss, maybe not a total miss, but a missed vitals miss.

So any incorrect data in this equation at all results in a miss.

Your incline is off 5°... miss. Your velocity is off 100 fps... miss. Your range is off 15 yards... miss
Heaven help you if your 100 fps slow, off 5 degrees of angle, and 15 yards farther range wise.

I don't mean to rain on your day, but at that range the std deviation of velocity in factory ammo will move your point of impact almost what your tolerance is for a clean kill.
