Been using Cabelas Space Rain for years, but the most recent set I bought has been terrible. Wets out in 1/4” of rain. Is there something better that will pack up small and light?

Lots of options, just need to figure out how much you want to spend and how nice of rain gear you need/want!

My next set will involve a better/heavier jacket with pit zips. Currently have the OR helium jacket @ 6oz. Has worked great for the past few years but I know it has its limitations (hasn’t failed yet).

Been really happy with the kuiu chugach pants @ like 10oz. They are quiet enough to hunt in and pack down well.

Budget is not an issue. Im more concerned with weight and packability. Chugach is not quite lightweight as I’d like. Doesn’t have to be hunting specific rain gear either.

The sitka dewpoint is the equivalent or better of the best breatheable rain gear from any company anywhere in my opinion, and could be a good option depending on what else you find and any particular preferences you have. Ime the gore branded fabrics are more waterproof and as breatheable as any competitors stuff, and the dewpoint model is still pretty darn light for full featured rain gear. I spend a lot of time in areas with frequent genuinely bad weather so Im not ok cutting corners in my rain gear.
Sitkas dewpoint ul is interesting to me and certainly very light but I think this category of uber ultralight rain gear starts to legit cut corners at least in many cases. Im curious about it though, as on paper the fabric is more waterproof than pretty much any of the competing fabrics in that weight class that Ive seen, so its really a question of cut, what can be tightened and vented, and durability. @mtwarden is checking a set out so Im curious what his take is.

FYI - Under 10oz and full zip legs (I prefer) don’t come much lighter. The UL stuff is mostly 1/4-3/4 zip I believe.
