I took the bottom of the scabbard out and sewed it off. The scabbard was to small for 2 of my rifles and annoying. I still use the slot on the top for trekking poles and a tripod

It’s for sale for even cheaper on camo fire right now.

The pop up isn’t a dedicated hauler. It’s rated to 80ish pounds I think. It definitely works to haul out game, but a full frame is more comfortable and can haul bigger loads.

If he can only have one pack, and needs it on a budget I’d go with this.
