Looking to buy a new treadmill or incline trainer. Would like to keep it sub $2k. I've heard plenty bad about the Nordic Tracks (AKA Icon Fitness product) but really like the idea of 40% incline training. The Life Fitness, Precor type products are very expensive, $3,000 and up compared to the Nordics for $1,500 or less, and have less bells and whistles. I don't need all the extras of the Nordic or Sole but they are kinda intriguing.

Does anyone have an opinion of the incline trainers?

How about experience with Nordic Track?

Would a better option be a used quality treadmill?

Is the ifit app worth it?

Have the X7i.
There are two allen headed bolts that adjust tension. My wife had one of those shear off at the head. I took them to a bolt store and got some decent ones as a replacement. Other than that it has been good.
40% with a pack is a killer. The ifit is neat but I have let it lapse. You can draw a route on Google Earth and input it onto the treadmill. I did a few of my favorite ridges and that was kinda fun.
