Need a set and forget for .375HH

None of the above. Trijicon 3-9 Accupoint. It's a little more expensive, but I've beat on 2 of them pretty hard on several big bore rifles including a .416 Remington until my wife stole one for her rifle. They have been very reliable.

I'd look at their Huron line if you want to save a little money. Same OEM without the illuminated reticle.

Interesting that you mention the accupoint 3-9. For a very long time, I’ve thought that one of those with the mil-dot reticle would make a great scope for a mountain rifle. I you could just refer to your chart and hold on the mill dots, wouldn’t need to dial it really and they are pretty light too if I remember right. I may need to read visit that idea snd try one out.

I’ve got a leupold 2.5x8 vx3 I might part with if you can’t figure out the present thing I had it on a 350 Remington magnum without issue.

I’ll second the accupoint. Also have one of those with the triangle post makes for fast target target acquisitions up close of need

They are around 12 oz. rugged. I passed on mil dot cause made no sense to be moa turret and mil hold. That’s me. Kenton does a lot of dailing custom turrets for trijicon.

If I wa s going that route, I wouldn’t dial. Just use it for hold overs. But now that you mention that it has a MOA dial I now remember why I didn’t go that route.

Have you any personal experience with the Huron and it’s reliability? How do you know they are the same internals as the Accupoint? Is that corroborated anywhere? Seems hard to believe as the price points are so different.
Same OEM in Japan. I don't know how Trijicon specified it to that OEM. My guess is that it is very similar minus the illuminated reticle. They are pretty serious about the durability of their optics from what I have seen.

Price point wise, the Accupoint scopes are partially assembled in Japan, sent to Michigan and final assembly is done there. This is because the tritium is a controlled nuclear material. The Huron is made in the same plant, and I highly doubt it is specified to a lesser degree. It doesn't have the higher cost of manufacture the Accupoints do and is shipped to the USA as a finished product.

So, no, I have no direct experience with the Huron. I'm basing the recommendation off my experience with other scopes they make. I've had 6 of them (2.5-10, two 3-9, three 1-4) and never had any issues. The 1-4's were on two .416's and a .458 Lott. I still have the 2.5-10 and two 3-9's. The 1-4's were sold with the rifles they were on.

I appreciate that info.

That is an annoying quirk of their Accupoint line. The 5-20 was the same way and it made an otherwise nice scope a bit of a dud. I think they finally decided to care about the civilian market more and make scopes people wanted.

Recently I have set up a couple of credo, this really is the right direction IMO.

Taking a friend new to elk hunting and he choose the Huron 2.5-10 with the bdc reticle. For $400 I think, nice scope. A value option to see if this sport is for him.

We/he have shot a lot, learning and different Ammo choices to see what his gun likes.

It’s a n of one, not a long time - but the scope tracks like the other accupoints and credos.

The optics appear very close to the two lines.
