Hi all,

My brother and I are looking to make a trip to Nebraska in December for a public land muzzleloader hunt for whitetails. From what I’ve read a lot of people say to focus on any pieces of public bordering ag or crp fields bordering ag. Which portion of Nebraska would you recommend we look into more?

Thanks

I've never hunted NE, but I've driven through it many, many, times. Based on the terrain, cover, and number of road-killed deer, I would try to find some public ground along the Platte river basically from Kearney on west. That river bottom goes for miles and the ag and ranch lands along its banks look fantastic. There are also dozens of dead deer along I80 at any given time of the year.

If I told you we probably see each other.
I’ll be there again Dec 1.

Pick a spot and go hunt
