Im looking to draw a rifle tag most likely for unit 620 in mt in 2027. i should have 7 bonus points with a good chance of drawing. All of my DIY western hunts have been in large tracts of national forest where we didnt have to worry about road access, how do all of you Non Res hunters go about sorting what roads are able to be traveled to access tracts of public lands and what ones are off limits, i have gohunt maps and onx but i have a hard time understanding states access laws as well as what roads you can or cant travel through private. i appreciate any help / advice , thanks !

Sort of a quick and dirty method I use is if it has a name (i.e., Smith Mountain Road) it's probably okay no matter how sketchy the road looks on satellite. Next level down is roads that are obviously well maintained I usually assume are okay because it looks clear from satellite imagery that the county is doing the maintenance. But I also wouldn't be surprised if it had a gate on it either.
