Whenever I hear an argument against hunting....I think of how brutal nature really is.
We were up in Orland shooting coyotes for a buddies buddy that has a cattle ranch where he lost 50-ish calves to coyotes last year. We were there when some cows were calving....and witnessed Coyotes standing directly behind the cow ready to birth....those Yotes literally pull the baby calf out of the mama and eat them on the spot.

Link is to an eagle taking down an antelope. If you are squeamish about this stuff...best not to watch.

There are a few examples of this on youtube....eagles dragging live goats off the cliffs to their death...amazing hunters really.....

Personally, I think what we do as hunters is pretty humane in contrast.....

Yup definitely agree here. I once read a statement by PETA saying hunting isn’t necessary because there are natural checks on animal populations... this is one of those natural population checks along with starving and freezing to death... I would rather get shot than get slowly eaten alive by a coyote or eagle, freeze to death or starve to death.

Funny how PETA didn’t mention what the population checks are....

I'd love to know the full story of that antelope getting harassed by that eagle. Ive seen Goldens carrying snakes and even a coyote/fox pup but an antelope is quite the challenge.

Pretty odd for an antelope to stand there and get eaten alive. I can’t imsgine that was a healthy antelope when the eagle arrived.

There is nothing more cruel than Mother Nature.

I know what you mean and I have to fight the urge to agree. Nature isn't cruel, it just offends our sensibility. The coyote doesn't eat the fawn because it hates it anymore than the hunter shoots the doe. They want to eat and survive.

Natureismetal Is a really amazing page on instagram. It should just how unaffected nature is with the notion of suffering.

Surprised at that eagle. I know they will harass them and get them to run off cliffs, but do just work it over like that is odd.

Mother nature is indeed tough and brutal. Also breathtaking on other respects.

I hunt and I kill but I do not get any pleasure from seeing an animal eaten alive. I know it happens everyday. I know the predators have to feed. Life is tough in many ways. DEATH can be worse.
