My next project is going to be a 7 PRC. I have a 6 arc for plinking and mule deer and smaller to 400y so this is just a gun I want in a caliber that interests me (it would have been a 7 BC but I’m not sold on how easy it would be to reload). Trying to keep just the rifle (already have a scope and rings) close to 1k.

E: can’t run a suppressor so it will be braked.

I’d be using it for hunting (which doesn’t involve a ton of walking so weight isn’t a huge concern) mostly with intermittent range use and I’ve narrowed it down to a few:

307 hush edition - has all the addons I’d put on it anyway and is within budget.

T3x stainless - I’d be replacing the stock because I hate the tikka stocks and especially in heavier recoiling rifles. I’d prefer a heavier contour barrel but I’d have to go with a CTR or the t3x ace for that.

T3x ace game - a little heavier than I’d prefer and it’s above budget but I really do like everything about it otherwise.

Not sure what else is going to fit the bill in that price range but I think those three options are pretty close to what I’m looking for.

Out of those I’d go with the T3X stainless for sure. Cut the barrel down and suppress when budget allows. A stock shape that helps a bit with mitigating recoil would be ideal for a hunting gun. The factory plastic stock works decent with a cheek riser and vertical grip.

175 ELDXs should shoot really well out of it and are also devastating on game. 180 ELDMs as well. Whichever one shoots the best after around 100 rounds through the gun and the barrel is broken in and stabilized.

👍🏻

Can’t own a suppressor in NJ and the logistics of a trust and finding a safe place to leave one are not worth it (to me).

If weights not an issue My kid just bought a Christensen evoke in 300 win. It’s a very nice gun for the price point I know they had a bad wrap for a bit but his a very clean gun. Bergara sierra wilderness can be had under a 1k it’s a bit heavy but nice.

I offloaded some extra guns and upped my budget. Went with the ph3 with a 22” barrel. Just waiting for some new rings since my nx8 bell hits the rail with lows.
