Just wanted to post a review of the Mystery Ranch Quick Draw Holster.
While I cannot speak to its revolver brother I am using the semi auto holster on a Glock 29 Gen 4.
The Gear:
Mystery Ranch Quick Draw Bino Harness
Mystery Ranch Quick Draw Semi Auto Holster
Glock 29 Gen4
This setup is actually pretty awesome. I did not know how much I would like carrying my Glock off of my chest but it works out very well. It rests very comfortably off of the bino harness and does not swing at all. The harness keeps everything in tight. Paired with a backpack both rest very comfortably and do not get in the way of my pack.
I am not worried about the gun coming loose at all. The holster is tight and there is zero worry about the gun coming out. On the same note it is very easy and convenient to draw. The elastic strap to hold the gun in, when adjusted properly will snap open with authority and clear the holster.
The holster completely covers the trigger of my gun. There is no worry of anything touching the trigger until drawn.
Fit:
I do not know how much bigger of a gun I would want to carry with this. I know the 29 is quite wide, and it occupies the entire holster. I do not think a 20 would fit as well but I haven’t seen one in the holster. Smaller Semi-Autos would be pretty comfy in there as well.
Overall I am pretty happy with the design. I like where the pistol sits and how easy it is to pull. God forbid I actually get knocked over by a bear if I go to my stomach I would still be able to access my gun. I actually thing it is easier to reach than my bear spray on my hip. Ill post some pics below.
*** Full size 1911 .45 for comparison. Holster is too short for gun. If you try forcing it in anymore it begins to rack the slide. Glock 29 fits perfect. ***
