Worked up a good shooting load using the 162 grain ELDX and IMR 4350. Getting 2850 fps. I know that's slow but will be picking up some StaBall HD to push it up into the 3000 fps area. The real problem is drawing an elk tag.

It works to well and people feel the need to make things harder than necessary.

H1000 in my tikka 7 (24.3" barrel) gives me 3150 FPS from 150 scenars and 3025 FPS from 168 berger classics. It was made for the 7 rem mag IMHO. Very temp stable too.

I found Staball HD for $30. a pound. So just asking. I have used H1000 and IMR7828 in the past for upper end magnum loads.

That's a great price for almost any powder these days.

I'm running 162 eldm at 3050 in my ruger 7 mag with r23 with 24" barrel. Haven't used it in a couple of years since I got my saum but it put a hurting on deer.
