I did the full custom process w consultations and 3d mapping.

Ive got a wide front foot but narrow heel.

These just arrived last night and had another 45 min on the phone w Stephen ( him making sure they were perfect and going over recommended break in)

right out of the box you’ll notice they are very well constructed and on the heavy side. Extremely comfortable, plenty wide toe box and no heel slippage. The boots almost feel like they propel you forward w each step.

I really think im going to love these, will report back as I get to use them.

New mountain hunting boot by Lathrop & Sons. Today was my first day of “break in”
1.1 mile walk getting use to the gait/feel
1.1 mile w 55# pack (kifaru w sand bad)

The boots feel great right out of the box, I did the full L&S custom boot build w 3d mapping of my feet. Stephen Lathrop had these boots to me in 2 weeks and spent quite a bit of time talking with me over the phone to get a feel for which boot to build. I went with the Mountain Hunter Super wide and then L&S built up around the heel area so no heel slippage. The process also included a custom made orthotic insole.

Very happy so far.

Super wide next to my Altra…. I’ve got a wide 4 foot and narrow heel and that’s why I wear the Altras

I've had mine for 2 plus years. Money well spent. Same problem, 4E width, narrow heel and added, high volume. The boots fit. My wife couldn't believe it until we both went to REI where I could not even get my foot into any of their 9.5 wide boots.

You will be well equipped for some hard miles. Enjoy.

got roughly 10 miles on these w a 55# load…. they are really working out great, Very stable
Are they stable because they have wide soles, or are they are "muffintop" wide leather foot on a narrow sole, like most brands do (eg. Crispi)? A photo of the soles sould be interesting to see.

I have a pr of Lathrop Mtn Hunters 9.5 W. My forefoot at the widest point weightbearing is 4”, the boot sole width is 4 1/8”, the widest part of the forefoot of the boot is 4 3/8”. Would be interested in those same measurements in the extrawide.
I tried Lowa Tibet W, forefoot felt tight, La Sportiva Trango didnt offer wide and forefoot was even tighter. The Lathrops are perfect with a thick sock and still room to move my toes.
