I don’t. I just kind of figure stuff out as I go. I only have templates for one pack I’ve ever made. I only made those after making the same pack for the 3rd time.

Very clean work. I always regret not making patterns. Im the same as you in that i just kind of wing it as i go. But i am getting better about making patterns so i can tweak things the next time. Otherwise i have to start all over with the head scratching portion of the build.
