very uplifting news!! this is the first time I've seen this post and as I was reading the first responses I was thinking to myself that you should watch the movie "Fireproof". If you have never seen this movie, It is a story very much like your own. A marriage on the edge of disaster but with the healing hand of God they made it through. It would be a good movie for you and your wife to watch together even now. Very happy to hear of your victory and remember God will never give us more than we can handle.
1 Peter 5:10 (NIV)
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
Great news, very timely to illustrate the power of God with Easter right around the corner. Thanks for sharing the powerful witness and testimony of his power.
Best of luck.... I have never been married, but one thing I do whenever I find trouble, I actually focus all of my energy on doing 5 things, everyday, that are the change I want to have in my life. I think if you have 5 goals that you can do each day, the sense of accomplishment helps the other issues that you have less control over. Mine are as follows:
1) Health - proper diet and most importantly NO ALCOHOL
2) Fitness - gym each day, runs with my dog
3) Work - focus on making a conscious effort at work to be the best I can, and the best coworker. Attitude is
4) Finances - set a financial goal - no eating out, create a new budget with mint.com
5) Mind - sounds crazy, but reading books helps me a ton! everything from stock market books, hunting, history, even personal help
Bottom line, If I can just get these 5 wins daily - I will be doing much better off in general. Use this opportunity to create some positive change that maybe you haven't been able to give yourself. This mindset helps me, but most importantly, it helps my attitude.
