My Kuiu pack and frame aren't matching up

So I recently bought a Kuiu frame/suspension and a 5000 pack. I was told both were 2012 models but were bought from different party's. So everything seems to line up good except for where the pack slips onto the bottom stays. The stays on the pack seem to be wider than the slots on the pack. Am I doing somthing wrong? I no the 2011 frame won't work on the newer packs without the adaptor kit. Is that what I have? How can I tell the difference between the 2011/12/13 frames.

The frame should say the year on the side facing the pack. The 5000 was a 2012 version pack.

If it's the 2012 frame, then it will seem as if the legs on the frame are a couple inches too wide to go into the slots on the bag- but they are not. You need to compress the legs together (toward each other) in order to make it fit. That way once they are in place the bag is nice and tight on the frame.

Call KUIU and ask for me if you need help getting it in, there are a few tricks that will help. 855-367-5848.

Thanks Todd, I talked to you a week or so ago. You were very helpful, I just didn't want to seem like a pain. I will call tomorrow.

Zbowman. I sold you the bag or frame I think. I noticed when I separated the frame and bag that the bottoms stays were sort of pinched together to fit in the stay sleeves on the bag. A bit hard to get back in and when they cam out they sort of springed out.

Ya, I bought the bag from you. I know the bag is exactly what you said it was and I am very happy with it. I wish there was a way to leave you feedback.

The more I look at the frame I am sure it is a 2012 model also. I am sure there is a trick to putting it together. I will talk with Todd from Kuiu. Very helpful guy.
Thanks for all the comments all.

Here you go. Just get about a 1/2" of one leg into the far pocket, then push the other leg inward while pulling the bag toward you by the Velcro strap. The frame leg will flex just enough to get into that pocket.
