My Colorado sheep hunt thread

Well, tag soup for me. And I'm content with the result. I had a heck of an adventure chasing them with a bunch of my best buddies throughout August. I've officially caught the sheep bug and hope I get another chance to chase them in my life. Thanks for all of the encouragement, and if anybody is after a trophy Marmot, DM me and I can help.

Fortunately most of the month was beautiful weather. And I'm filled with gratitude reflecting on the 16 days I got to spend hunting in August. My wife and kids sacrificed big time to let me be gone that long, and they were my biggest cheerleaders throughout the process. I had 9 different buddies join me at some point throughout the hunt, and I realized how blessed I am to have those guys in my life. Every single one of them had a great attitude, was in great shape for hiking, sacrificed time away from their own families to be with me, spent HOURS AND HOURS glassing for sheep, and was intentional to encourage me along the way. I will be forever grateful for this adventure, and came home refreshed and believe I'll be a better husband and father because of my time away and conversations this month. IMG_20250831_212046.jpg

Good for you for sticking it out with a bow… not a lot of guys would do that on a hunt like that.

Are you implying most would choose to use a rifle?
It’s was an archery only tag- no choice but to stick it out. And yes it looks like the OP gave it all he could, and more effort than most could. It’s just bowhunting is tough! That’s what makes it worth it 😀

You’re right I missed the archery only part! However I stand by the comment that most who have the option to use either weapon and start out with a bow ultimately end up grabbing a rifle.

Regardless great hunt by the OP

Ya, if I could've switched to a rifle I definitely would've after a few blown stalks with the bow 😂.
