Ok we are almost out of July, hunting seasons have started in some areas and my brain is a functionally worthless mass right now at work. I have been in conversations with a few on here about a couple of the tags i have in Colorado and California and i just cannot stop thinking about nights in the high country, mountain house meals, tired legs, long days, leaves changing color and the sound of elk in a dark forest. This will be my sons first antelope hunt and we will follow it with his first archery Elk and deer hunt in Colorado, and I am just giddy. There is not a thing in this world that would make me happier than seeing him get his antelope and elk this year. But really just being in the forest with him when an elk blows up looking for a fight will be cool. I really do not think there is anything that tops that in the hunting world. He has been going out with me since he could walk and i love seeing the success he is having. I hope he gets a deer like this of his own this year too. To me that is what it is all about now.
I will certainly post pictures and I look forward to hearing about everyone's success this year. Especially if it involves youth hunters.
