Muzzle Brake POI Change or Accuracy Change?

I’ve developed a couple good loads for my 7mm STW with a Little Bastard brake installed. I am not crazy about hunting with a brake and the recoil isn’t bad with the Sendero cause it’s heavy.

Will removing the brake and installing the thread protector just change POI or will it change the accuracy of the load?

I only have experience with a Browning HCS in 300WM. POI or accuracy does not change between being braked or removed.

hanging things off the end of the barrel usually changes POI, but it should be repeatable. Go shoot it and if it’s an inch high and half and inch right at 100, double check and then you can adjust and go hunt.

Removing or adding a muzzle brake almost always changes POI, often 1 to 2 MOA (that’s a lot!). Additionally, different muzzle brakes will produce different POI. Never known a brake to alter accuracy. If anything, a brake will improve shooting performance if it works to reduce recoil. Hope this helps!

I have seen a 5 MOA difference removing the brake before. It didn't affect the accuracy noticeably, but the POI shift can be drastic. Try it and see. Might not matter on your rifle. It's a harmonics thing.
