Hey need some ideas and help. I harvested my first Mule Deer in January and my first Merriam the previous May. I am thinking of doing a double pedestal mount. Deer up top and turkey on the bottom. Attaching a photo of two deer but imagine a strutting turkey lower than the deer. If you have seen similar projects or have ideas I would appreciate them. Thanks.

For the mount pictured, I'd maybe add a lower limb that sticks out horizontally and have the tom standing on that. Not sure how natural it'd look to be in a strutting posture while having the feet wrapped around a limb but there's not that many options without any flat ground...

Just an opinion, but I don't think your mount idea will best highlight each animal. Some things go together, some don't. Congratulations on the animals. Do what makes you happy.

i understand entirely. I think it is worth a try and if I don’t like I can separate them. Nothing a little money will not fix. Thanks for the thought though as I have had the same>.

I think it's a cool idea and will mention that toms strut all the time on tree limbs before flying down. Maybe look for a cottonwood trunk with a stout limb for turkey to be on. Good luck and post pics if u get it done!

My dad used to have a big Merriam tom in a half-strut gobbling pose. It was a really cool mount.

If it was mine, maybe the turkey is on a limb in a similar posture. The deer would be below in a similar pose to the low buck in your example picture.

I think it would take a fair amount of "habitat" to make it look proper.

I made this several years ago. It looks a little wonky on the floor, but hangs better on the wall.

Just an idea, if you want another way to tie them in together.

A euro/deadhead at the base of a tree with the gobbler above could be cool too.
