Mule Deer Behavior in New Mexico

I drew the New Mexico first rifle mule deer rifle tag in November this year but I don't really understand mule deer behavior in November.

Everything I've read online says that they should be rutting in November but my experience has been that they don't rut until late December and January.

Should I expect rutting behavior in mid November or are the bucks still keeping to themselves? Or can anyone point me in the right direction to find this info?

I've read the forums, searched google, reddit, and game and fish website but haven't found anything concrete. Thank you all for your help in advance.

We would typically see them solo or in bachelor groups still in November.

I’ve hunted them at the north end of the state and south central in November and never seen any rutting activity that early.

So, I think the late December to mid January rut timeline is accurate.
