Mule deer antler growth

Curious on how the antler growth is looking for everyone else this year so far? Lots of northeast nevada bucks seem to be a bit behind. Curious on what the outlook is for the rest of the west.

I'd be curious about this too, for the rest of Northern Nevada. We've had one of the wettest years on record in NW Nevada apparently, and feed seems plentiful.

It seems like we’re a bit behind here in central Wyoming. Haven’t seen any bucks fork into 4’s yet, though they’re getting kinda close. I’ll share what I see this weekend if I get a good digiscoping photo.

But yes, like most places in the west, we have water and feed for days right now. Pretty wild to see how green it still is.

Still a ton of snow above 11k here. Passes are pry 10 days to 2 weeks out from opening a lot of places.

Split into 4s. Green as ever in the mountains right now.

Same as everyone else is seeing. Antler growth in central Utah is behind a normal year. Best I’ve seen is just starting to split into 4’s. I talked to a biologist about it and he believes we’ll see rapid growth in July from all the great feed.

Generally not that great in western ut/eastern Nevada

I saw a fully framed four point in Montana last week while passing through. Couldn’t snap a picture in time before he bedded down.

A couple whitetails for reference. I feel they are behind this year.

2/3 yr old bucks are just past their first split maybe 2" tops. Mature bucks are hitting their second split (actual forks) with maybe 2" into those. That's for bucks above treeline, low country front range bucks are further along.

Not sure that it differs a ton or not, but from some of the elk I have seen they are doing fantastic, I would assume the MD will be good as well this is central co, and front range. Mild winter with decent snow pack plus adequate moisture should be a solid year for bone

Starting to come along in north east Wyoming. Slower back in Arizona.

Here’s some smaller bucks that will grow into decent bucks by the end of August. Took these photos a couple hours ago. Found two much larger bucks, a 5x5 and 6x6 who had 2 forked horns and 2 spikes with the. They 6x6 already has extras forming. Couldn’t get them in the binos before the went down below a fold on a steep rocky canyon hillside.
