I hunt primarily from a ladder stand, ground blind or platform blind, it gets cold enough for me and my beach bum self. I have an old Cabelas muff and polyester gloves, it's ok with handwarmers or disposable warmers, just wondering if trying some wool liner gloves and a decent pair of bison mittens would be better. I'm worried about the movement in a ladder to take the mittens off rather than just sliding hands out of the muffs. FYI, the muff is not fully wind resistant, it allows cold winds to come through.
Another plus for the muff, it has a pocket for a pull rope, rattling bag, grunt call, and an extra little snack/protein bar. In a stand, I don't run a backpack. I could be up there for hours too.
