Here's the link for the meetings....https://fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/elk-management-citizen-advisory-group

I'm not sure if others here applied (I did) but this is part of the Directors answer to the dumpster fire that has been the last year in MT. Hopefully something good comes from this.
I'm not holding my breath. This is the guy who's best response as to why they were focusing efforts on increasing abilities for landowners to get bull tags on their property rather than going after cows when their stated goal is to decrease elk population numbers was "Come on guys, we just want to try it for one year and see what happens! Don't get so worked up!"

My level of trust of him and anything he suggests is less than zero.

I feel your frustration, but, I'm an optimist, which is my greatest character flaw

Just saw the list, and Rokslider Heath Hanson got on the citizen committee.
I did not throw my name in. I’m also a optimist and have had good candid conversations with Hank in the past with other issues. Yes he likes to shoot off the hip and throws curve balls, but at least he will return calls.

The director's answer to the dumpster fire? He is the dumpster and the guy who set the fire.

I am an optimist also, but I am putting my optimism towards hoping he resigns before we loose all the staff. He has set the agency and it's reputation so far back it's hard to see how it can possibly recover.

Are you going to join the meetings and participate as a part of the “sounding board”?
I plan to. Who knows if it will do anything.

Yea, it's a pretty strange situation we are in currently.
