i think im about to pull trigger on a windburner, and just thought this has a special bottom on cup so if for some reason stove wouldnt work i wouldnt be able to use with someone elses say pocket rocket or jetboil right?

or is this not an issue to worry about ?

Looking at it, I think you can make it work in a pinch.. Would just be a balancing act

I'm going to buy one real soon too. I'm curious if I could lose any weight off it. Like, is the black plastic part around the burner removable? It doesn't look like it serves much of a function, maybe a little extra wind protection..
 
Had mine a year and very happy with it. The only weight savings would be the plastic cup, but I wouldn't want to risk damaging the heat exchanger. I wouldn't swap,it with other stoves unless it's an emergency, the windburner/reactor stoves work on a different principle then the jetboils. Think glowing dome vs visible flames.
