my two favorite backpacking stoves are the MSR Windburner and the Jetboil MiniMo.

I decided to do a head to head test for boil times using same amount of water. One with no wind and the other In front of a fan on high simulating wind on a high country hunt.

With no wind the MiniMo boiled water 23 seconds faster.

With wind using a fan the windburner boiled water 28 seconds faster. I weighed both and windburner is only 1.6oz heavier so due to wind performance I’ll be taking MSR windburner on my backpack hunts.

Good info. Thanks. Tests done by backpacking light (I think) and others demonstrate a rather substantial advantage of the windburner vs. the Jet boil in windy conditions - I think a much greater advantage than what you found. Perhaps the tests I viewed were performed in colder and/or windier conditions or with more water (most people test with 1 Liter of water and lid on).
