so dont throw anything at me for being stupid, i am going to do my research, just happened to be on here right now. I was packing my new metcalf and realized the top was open. It has the pop up top but bag is still open on top. what do you guys do to keep debris and rain out.

The main compartment has a drawstring to mostly close it. Then the top lid covers up the main compartment opening pretty well to avoid debris falling in. In the case of heavy rain I use a rain fly as the pack is not waterproof.

thanks, thats kinda what I was seeing but thought maybe I was missing something. Shocked it doesnt zip closed. I think I like the pintler much better. oh well

lots of packs of all brands just have a drawstring at the top. Nothing ever gets in mine... I just throw a cover on if it’s pouring rain.
