Hi Folks,
I am building up a new rifle. I have a Tikka T3x Hunter Stainless Fluted in 7 Rem Mag coming. I am planning on putting a Leupold VX5HD 3x15x44 on it. From my research, I see that I have a few options to mounting I wanted some advice/opinions on what I should do, or brands...I can't figure out the pros and cons to easy on this one.
- straight to the receivers integral rail guides - https://www.berettausa.com/en-us/tikka-ringmount-stainless-s-ringmount/s1323904/
- straight to the receiver set screws - https://www.opticsplanet.com/v/171102-leupold-backcountry-ring-mount.html
- single Picatinny - https://www.opticsplanet.com/v/171348-leupold-backcountry-cross-slot.html
- dual dove tail system - https://www.opticsplanet.com/v/178561-leupold-dd-tikka-t3-t3x-2-pc-base-30mm.html
I assume that the single Picatinny and straight the receiver with integral rails with have the most flexibility to where you set your scope for eye relief. Weight will be less with the 2 straight to the receiver options. Single Picatinny seams the most solid.
What is your thoughts?
