With most powders, you can get an additional 5% of powder into the case before hitting pressure. Adding a longer mag to seat the bullets out gets you a couple extra grains. It is very dependent on your recipe though.

Generally yes. Their website lists COAL for each mag, theres a lot of different models.

Any updates on if the gen 2 223 mags are reliable?

Significantly better. But I haven’t used it extensively enough to say they are objectively reliable and use so far is limited to mag length rounds, I haven’t tried my 75 eld-m loads yet. I also just have one so sample size is very limited.

But my experience so far with the gen 2 223 mag is much better than my original 223 mag.

My 223 mt mag has no issues and I have loaded 73, 80 and 88 eldms.
