Mountain Hardwear Compressor Pants fit

Has anyone run these over another pair of pants? I see they have some waist adjustments and stretch. I fall right in on the medium waist, but as I'd be running them over a normal pair of pants, I wasn't sure if going up a size to the L size would be warranted? I am usually a 32 or 33 in jeans

I’m a 34x35 and the large long fits me perfect over pants. I absolutely love the compressor pants. Have two seasons in them with trips to CO in negative temps and 8 days in Alaska.

How do they handle static downtime?

I have used these quite a bit over the past few years. I have a set of medium compressor pants that I wear over my 34x34 pants and put them on over my Scarpa mountaineering boots. It’s a snug fit, maybe even a bit of a fight to get them on, but once they are on, they are good to go. I’ve used them ski biking, but I usually wore them for glassing here in Colorado. So far they have worked for me, I think the coldest I’ve been has been 10°.

My kid has them now and I’ve switched to a set of Patagonia MARs puffy pants.
