Anyone use the MH Ratio 15 sleeping bag that can share their experiences? It would primarily be used by my wife for backpacking trips between May-September, so not very cold weather. They are currently having a great sale, so I thought I might get her one.

I have one of the blue ones that were discontinued last year. I’ve used it for a week in Colorado in September and a few times around home. Coldest night I’ve spent in it was 25 deg and was on a 4.7 R value pad. I stayed pretty warm. Spent several nights in the upper 20’s to low 30’s and stayed warm on all of them. I think it’s a pretty good bag for the money, especially if you catch it on a good sale. I think I could do 15 deg with it but would be a stretch.

Thanks!

Good bags for the money. I dont believe the 15* comfort rating though as i used it for September archery last year in eastern Or and was cold. The cheap ass REI pad i had though could have a lot to do with my being cold though

Thanks! We probably wouldn't use it in temps less than 35-40 deg, and she has a Klymit Static V Insulated pad (R-4.4), so I think we would be OK.

I bought one myself. The reviews I found were all positive so I gave it a chance, especially for the price.

my bag is a Mountain Hardware 15 bag. about 7yrs old now, LOVE it. Very capable bag.

With a winter pad, you will be good to 15 degrees, on a low R rated pad the ground will suck heat from you.

I have a blue MH 15° down bag, not sure of the exact model, but it has been really nice. Had it out in the low 20's and stayed warm.
