Mountain goat removal in Olympic National Park

The website says June 30 for results. I also heard end of April. Does anyone else know different?

I'll be applying with a small group of very close friends. Three of us were the last group I'm aware of to shoot a goat in that area. I have a feeling there will be a lot of very qualified groups and the competition for a spot will be tough.
Fingers crossed for you and your group Justin! Looking forward to seeing some pictures if you guys get selected.

I applied with a bunch of guys from work. military and mountaineering background and awesome guys. I hope we get to share an adventure of a lifetime together!

You'll never stand a chance with a bunch of over the hill old guys on social security that like to sit in bars.;)

18/1000???? 1.8%!! Wowza!! Those are some horrible odds. Let’s just hope there wasn’t really that many groups...At least not for my sake.

I asked Patti by email how many applications they received and she responded that she still didn't know but if it is any indication so far they had 13 application in which the group leaders first name was Aaron.

Yikes! Just wait till they get to "Kevin..."

Still pretty great the state is actually allowing folks to volunteer to do this. Ticks me off every time a state "lethally removes" some game animal that we all apply for years trying to get a chance to hunt by paying some "professional sharp shooter," whatever the heck that means, get's to go in and bag a bunch of animals. Always wondered who these hired guns were, probably just the friends of whomever is running the program.

Good luck to those that applied!

It's not state Fish and Wildlife, it's the National Park Service. The opportunity is much appreciated.
