Mounting and sewing bags onto a camp trails /barney frame has been my obsession for the last couple years. I will dump some photos. You can easily use a seek outisde talon and any dry bag to good effect

Nice I have been thinking of same idea for awhile now. Looks like your way ahead of me since you've already been doing it for a few years.

Im about to pull the trigger on an old Camp Trails freighter frame with a moose and do my own tinkering. Do you know of other brands in particular that work for camp trails or barneys frame?

Also please keep sharing pictures its good to get an idea and appreciate someone else work.

Thats the bag with side pockets before I put it together. You just have to tie or sew a loop and run it through the loop and around the frame. any webbing strap can be put on the frame this way. It just ao happens that the webbing loops on the talon perfectly line up with the cross bars on most frames

Cabelas alaska one frame will work. You can buy barneys new. Its a little longer by 1.5 inches. Look on craigslist, the first frame i bought is the only one i use and have yet to find one just like it. I have bought about 4 off craiglist for parts.

You really only need a way to hang the bag and a way to compress the bag. Right now i just have my training weight in a sea to summit bag with the talon compression system. In about a month Im going to sew my bag for next year and will post so more then. Ill post some close ups tomorrow but if you zoom in on this photo you can see how simple it is. I also just learned how to see the best way is to just jump in and do it.

I just got my Alps outdooz bag, pulling my frame out of storage this weekend. Hopefully it doesn't take much to get workable. I'm planning a couple wilderness area turkey hunts in PA, and WV.... well maybe WV idk 500 miles round trip to back pack for a turkey, at 3.79 a gallon it's debatable at this point

Any close up pics I'm just got the same set up. Try to decide if I wanna drill hole in the frame or if I can add grommets to the bag

In for ideas as well. Just picked up a Camp Trails frame myself. The belt wasn’t working for me so I ordered a Marsupial with all the MOLLE. I’ll be trying to get something out together this weekend.

I ordered a seek outside hip belt recently. Hasnt arrived yet I’ll let you know how it works. You could buy the entire barneys suspension and put it on your camp trails.

I’ve already got the Marsupial. The belt was my real hang up. I think the shoulder straps are going to work. I’ll report back after I get things lined out.

First idea with the Camp Trails frame and Marsupial belt. Basically weaved 3/4” webbing through the bottom row of MOLLE and around the bottom bar. A couple times with the buckle end around the top. The fit feels good.
Only issue I noticed is that the bottom of the frame and the load shelf ends are really close to my hips. The factory belt had significantly more padding possibly keeping the frame a little farther away from your back/hip area.
I’m hoping to put some weight on it this weekend and see what happens.
