Most comfortable rubber boots

Looking for a rubber boot that isn't clunky, heavy, and good on your feet if you're hiking steep terrain. I have a pair of crispis but id like a pair of rubber boots for when its really wet out or crossing streams. Last pair of Mucks I had KILLED my feet so looking for a better option. Thanks

Grippy AF. They're designed for working on wet, pitching boat decks. Absolute go to footwear for wet metal roofing.

I’m also bias because I grew up in SEAK. I’ve literally spent thousands and thousands of days in them.

I bet I shot my first 15-20 deer in Xtratuffs.

Fun fact: Xtratuff changed their manufacturing about 10 years ago. The quality went to shit immediately…like bad. It was essentially the Alaska version of a national emergency. Our congressional delegation got involved and pressured them to sort it out, which they did, but there was like 18 months in there where they were garbage.

What model?

I always get the regular ones (uninsulated, non-steel toes). My brother always gets the insulated ones. I used to get the steel toes when I worked construction.

Basic options are the 16” boot in:

Insulated or uninsulated
Steel toe or no steel toe

There’s a million versions now. Mostly just shorties in cutsie patterns. The 16” brown version is the original.

I walk around with them on slippery stuff all the time. You are right, they don’t have an aggressive tread but it sticks well. I live out of xtratuffs for a lot of the year.

I wear rubber boots a lot for work, and almost exclusively (unless it's extremely cold) for hunting. The most comfortable pair I ever owned were called BOGS. I'm not sure if they still make them or not. I have a tall arch so most rubbers fit tight on the top of my foot unless I can find a wide, and these didn't hurt me feet at all. I'm currently using Irish setter boots, but the arch isn't really tall enough. Other than that they're pretty good, way better than muck. I'm sire the lacrosse are good as well, but I've never tried them.
