Mosquitos in a floorless/screenless shelter

A bug nest for sleeping like Reaper has shown has worked best for me since I started using a flourless shelter in 2010.

Which bug nest is best for 2 grown adults, used in Sawtooth?

Somebody had BearPaw make up a nest for the Sawtooth here recently. For the life of me, I can't seem to find the thread right now though. However, I'm also interested again as I currently have a Sawtooth heading my way as well. Hopefully someone can link the thread. Otherwise, I think any 2-person nest can be rigged up in a Sawtooth to work.

We modded our sawtooth out to drop the rear pole (sewed a guy loop to the outside, and just stake it out---can still use the rear pole if it's super windy, but haven't had any issues thus far), and use a standard 2 person sloped net tent with full left zip made by bearpaw Wilderness designs. It's a palace for the two of us, still has plenty of room in the sawtooth for gear, and will even fit a standard double air mattress when weight allows. I added shock cord loops to the sawtooth and attach the nest with carabiners so it's suspended inside and only requires one stake.

In have a large tipi with screen door and sod skirts and skeeters aren't an issue with it.

My Mountainsmith LT.... that's a bit more difficult.
One thing I do is pile pine duff up around the perimeter. Huge help!

And a bit of 100% deet on the door and keeping it closed helps with the rest.
Been thinking about adding a citronella candle to inside, but I like the the coil idea too.

Will have to look into this other spray you guys are talking about too.

Try Sawyer Permethrin on your gear, clothes, and shelter. For your skin, try Sawyer Picaridin lotion. The lotion doesn't have much of an odor (I can't smell any to be honest) and it does not destroy waterproofing or act as a solvent like DEET does, so it is safe to use near your gear. My son and I used these this summer in Boy Scout camp and we had no problems with bugs in the old surplus wall tents we used.
