also check out FATMAPS it has a view feature for flat areas and will show you top and bottom along with shelfs, it is more of ski thing but it has some really cool features i wish the others would get. Also look at ArcGis it has a feature where you drop a pin and it will show you just how much area you will be able to see with the eye- this view is either a line or a polygon your choice ,hard to explain just have to go play with it to see but its bad to the bone.

I sit on a high point that allows me to see 2 to 3 drainages or hill sides of transition areas were deer/elk will move through.

some great feedback here. i have about a half dozen spots picked out using google earth that appear to be great vantage points for this upcoming archery hunt. plan is to do an evening and morning glass and move on if nothing shows.
