Anyone loading up on them? My friends who have a built in morel radar system have been finding the little black ones.
I’m getting after them this week.
Just checking on what everyone is finding.

When I visit my nephew in Ft. Wayne later in April we usually spend at least on day out looking around. Last year we hit the mother load. Main reason for trip is crappie fishing and family time.

I like how crappie and mushroom seasons coincide. Here in SW Idaho, they go hand in hand.

I'll be looking this week in Virginia. I'd say next week will be almost prime.

We have a good month yet here. Usually mid May, if we see them at all. As dry as it's been so far I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

Found some on the 1st. Picked a few of the bigger ones for dinner, couldn't resist we were having elk...and left a couple dozen that were an 1" to 2" tall. They are on private so I will go back and get them later this week...and hopefully fill a turkey tag. Should be finding a bunch in area this week.

Nothing in the Crawfordsville area that I could hunt up. Spent about 4 hours wandering yesterday and came up empty on morels. Did find a decent oyster clump.

Still a foot of snow In the mountains around here. Going to be a few more weeks I think

Last year here in Virginia we found our first morels on March 21. This year, looking in the same spots - none yet!

Ahead of schedule in the coast range of Oregon lots of sunburn already
