Just got done with an oryx hunt in New Mexico. The weather was a real concern going into the hunt with all the rain. Weather turned to warm and humid, like Iowa. Wore Helios top and Valhalla pants the first day. Comfortable, but warm. Switched to a Tiburon top the second day the the Valhalla pants. Noticeably more comfortable. Did a lot of crawling in the brush. Stickers went through pants, but came out quite unscathed. Overall, impressed with all the gear I wore. Didn't have a chance to try the Tiburon pants. Going to gave a buy another pair as I gave the ones I had to the guy I was hunting with and the matching Verde top. He will give them a workout. Will see how the gear likes Wyoming tomorrow.

Yeah The Kryptek gear is super nice. I run the Alios Pants and they are just bombproof.

I love the kuiu pants, and really want to like the top, but just can't seem to do it, the fit is all wrong for me, the sleeves are real tight and about 2 inches to long.

The Tiburon set is the best set of clothing I've ever worn for early season archery hunts.

The shirt fits me as I have long lanky arms, but it won't be perfect until they reverse the stretch direction on the sleeves. I have small forearms and even I can't pull up the sleeves. The material itself is incredibly breathable though and much more comfortable/durable than a merino top.

You think it is more comfortable than a merino top? I think it may be more durable, but no way is it more comfortable. What kind of merino are you comparing it to?

Kuiu of both. In hot weather I much preferred the tiburon, though both were good. I just love the finish and feel of the tiburon line.

Ok, makes sense now. I too do not like the feel of the KUIU merino as much as say the First Lite which I think is way more comfortable than the Tiburon. The Tiburon shirt is pretty constrictive. Kinda of like comparing apples and oranges with the Tiburon and merino though.

Wore the Tiburon top a couple days in Wyoming when it was hot. Since it's pretty lite, I just put it in the pack and wore when needed. Definitely could tell the breathability of the Valhalla isn't as good, but I was very impressed with the durability of both lines. I wasn't purposely running through briars or thorns, but was pleased with the clothes. When it cooled off, I needed more clothes and layering worked well. Mostly a Helios top over a merino wool, but actually ended up with rain gear (Chugach) and Cerdic Hoodie in the rainy cool over these layers and quite comfortable. If the rain wasn't expected to amount to much, I just went with a Guide jacket over the Helios & merino wool. Other than the heavier rains, the Aliaos pants were all that was needed except for the hotter days and the Aliaos were too warm. I did have the luxury of having all of these options available and just needed to look at a weather forecast for the day to decide what to take along. My $.02 based on this experience. Looking forward to another tryout soon.
